Default Your maintenance "bucket list"

So since our cars are old, and they're B5s, god knows we all have work to do on them. I've never seen one fully functional or needing nothing. What do you need to fix/mod/address? My list is:

•Fix my AC (hasn't worked since before I bought the car 11/2/06)
•Replace my rear calipers so the e-brake works without binding (cleaning and lubing them hasn't done it)
•Rebuild my front left outer CV joint
•Change my VC gaskets (I have them, just gotta do it)
•Solder and clean the fuel sender - gauge starting to act up a little
•Change my tranny and diff fluids (no problems but they need to be done due to miles)
•****-can my Vmaxx for something that doesn't suck rhino ***
•Independently wire my fogs (I have a pre-face car so the DIYs don't apply)

That's about it - I'm pretty impressed with it since it's got just under 209,000 miles and that's all it needs.

How about you guys? What's in your wrenching futures?

Where to start...

Replace driver side transmission mount (in mail)
Install ebay short shifter (in mail)

I've been trying to clean up gearbox slop - replaced the pax side transmission mount already, I've already seen an improvement which is relieving

Switch out "A4" badge for "APR" badge
Track down high pitch squeak coming from front left wheel when I turn hard left - any ideas for this one?
Brakes/Rotors are on the horizon too

Spring 2012 = suspension and exhaust ( if my wallet hasn't commit suicide by then)

devil - 209k on the clock, that's awesome. I hope my car will last my that long. Mine sits at 104k

Actually mine is running perfectly now, and I don't anticipate needing anything for awhile.

I'm so glad I changed the tiptronic fluid & filter last Spring. That tranny shifts like butta now.

Edit: I take it back, my B5 could use a new belly pan and right front fender liner, along with some paint touch ups to cover some scratches. But nothing serious.

Surprisingly mine doesn't need much except some mod parts that need to go on.

Maintenance-wise, I'll have to fix my P0455 I've had for a while. I found out the leak is coming from one of the EVAP lines underneath the car. I guess I bottomed out, pushed in the frame as it hits one of the lines.

I've been slowly chewing away at this list since I got the car.

-Change out bouncy OEM suspension for S4 or otherwise
-Driver's rear ABS sensor (I killed the old one doing the wheel bearing)
-Replace the electric radiator fan (makes squeaking noise)
-Coolant temp sensor (temp gauge erratic)
-Locate rattle/squeak somewhere in the dash
-Rear swaybar and end links
-Brake pads/rotors (probably get A8's)
-Replace Vacuum lines

And the list goes on...

Great thread! Mine has pretty much run like a top since I got it, aside from ABS module and speed sensor issues that I resolved a while back. But I've performed quite a bit of maintenance which helps.

Believe it or not, the only thing my car could use is paint. One of the POs had the trunk lid, rear bumper, and part of the rear quarter panel repainted, and that paint has been flaking off/cracking since before I bought the car (to reveal the original paint underneath).

One option to resolve this dilemma would be to find a Quattro shell that I could transplant everything from my car into... Would need full drivetrain. Anybody know of a shell like this with a missing engine or an engine that was damaged due to a timing belt/tensioner failure?

Go play on a Chevy forum. If you had an Audi, this thread would apply to you.

-Get the heat working again (goddamn double din swap)
-Fix ABS module
-Replace the exhaust from the manifolds back (instead of repairing bit by bit by bit)
-Change Valve Cover gaskets
-Timing Belt

Get around to locating a 4.2 for a good price ;-)
