now would this oil work for a 2.8? cuz i know the hotter it gets the thicker and heavier weight u should use... its 100+ on average here everyday... ad im only 40 minutes away from the OP.. so could it ork for me? cuz i have a tappy noise when i first start up in the morning... but once the car gets to running temp it goes away... seems like the tapping noise is common with these cars... so is this something everyone should be looking into or is this just something everyone always solves with heavier weight oils?

If the noise is loud, like a diesel and lasts less than 20 seconds or so after cold start-up, it's "normal." If it lasts longer than that, try Seafoam or BG MOA. Stick with 5W-30 for 2.8 V6.

50 is going to cause the oil temps to be much lower, if your oil temps are not getting high now they are going to be even lower running 50 which is meant for racing where high oil temps are an issue. It is also going to cause higher oil pressure which means less flow. Best to use 5w40 if its cold in the morning but it gets very warm during the day.

I found this on a Mobil1 website showing that the pumpability is not at 15 deg. It's way lower than that. Therefore, the turbo has no way of getting damaged at startup. Remember that synthetic oil works a lot different than conventional oil.

Because of the high-performance
fluids in Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil,
it generally flows at much lower
temperatures than a conventional oil.

Again.. if you are a little worried, you can mix the weights.. 15w-50 is just fine where you live. In fact, my manual says to use 20w50 any time its over 65 degrees F!

I always thought 15w-50 was diesel oil.

Actually, on the Mobil1 5W-40 bottle, it says it's for turbocharged diesel engines. The 15W-50 says that it provides optimum protection for high-performance racing engines or engines with turbos.
