Default 02 1.8t cel

Got a CEL and the code is a lean condition on exhaust bank 1. I realize there is only one bank so im thinking o2. Is there a way to check it? If i clear the code it comes back the next day.

Lean codes are generally vacuum leaks. Check all your vacuum lines and the three vacuum check valves. 90% chance thats your problem. An O2 sensor would throw a different fault code.

are the check valves the round things that are plastic and corrode? if so, those are corroded.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. Looks like i have 1 bad check valve at this point. I also have a big leak in the vacuum line that goes into the UIM closest to the front of the car. It is a braided line. My question is would be a problem to just replace that line with a silicone hose, or does it need to be the same kind that is on there now? Thanks

Go with silcone hose, they hold up better than the braided line.
