02 3.0 p0024
Hi guys, 02, A4, 3.0Q, 110k on car, timing belt replaced around 80k
I have been experiencing a few issues as of late, first CTS - P0118(I think - coolant sensor(replaced). Then P0025(timing over retarded) and P0421(Bank 1 catalyst efficiency below threshold).
I called in to the dealer asked for them to run my vin too see if I have any recalls available, sure enough ignition coil packs suck on audi's.
A little over a week has gone by since the dealer replaced the coil packs and my MIL comes on. So I thought it might be the P0421 again ... nope, it's MIL code P0024(timing over advanced(now). Why when it was over retarded before is it now over advanced? I don't know.
So I want to take action, but what should I do? For the week that I have been driving the car, it was fine, but today the MIL back came on. I was driving and went on the gas pedal pretty hard to pass a car. After slowing down the revs began to oscillate, kind of like the car was sputtering even when I began to pick up speed again. So I turn the car off, check the code again; P0024... So I clear the code the car seems to be driving ok. For the most part, as long as I don't pass cars on a regular basis, it's ok.
So now here's the weird part. After one(1) or two(2) starts the MIL came back on again, with the P0024. Usually it's like four or more restarts.
So now that I have new coil packs, should I just replace the the camshaft position sensor pertaining to the code or maybe the spark plugs. I highly doubt the timing is actually messed up.
Thanks in advance, Igor

Only thing is, why would it mess up now? It was done 30k ago. I don't know where it was done because it was done by the previous owner.
