2003 A4Q 1.8T 99,568 miles

CEL came on the other day on the way home,I thought "Oh I'll have to pull the codes when I get my reader back from a friend whom I lent it to". Everything runni ok, maybe a little rough but running ok. Get home park the car, come out the next am, the car starts runs 2-4 seconds, shuts right down, I'm thinking maybe a Fuel Pump Relay? I have a spare new one so I put it in and no change in behavior. the car starts, runs 2-4 seconds or so then shuts right down. Can't raise my friend to get my code reader back so I am trying to diagnose without the fault code. Need to get this back on the road ASAP!

New fuel filter 20K miles ago, fuel at the fuel rail under pressure...

Any suggestions...............PLEASE????

Additional information:

1. Unhooked the battery to clear out all the electronics.
2. Car started, ran for about 2 minutes then the 4 way flashers came on, car ran rough smelled badly then shut down
3. started again, won't idle still have the 4 ways on, no CEL but it appears I have the IMMOBILIZER LIGHT ON?? Where the hell did this come from.
4. Tried the other key same thing???

All ok now. Pulled the battery cable, cleared the computer, hooked up the battery, retaught the keys and all is ok.

Code reader says bad upstream 02 sensor so I have ordered both from ECS Tuning, have them Tuesday (I'll pick them up as they are 15 min from work).
