2.7t swap, need some answers.
I own a 2002 Audi b6 a4 1.8t with tiptronic trans. Most recently I have blown the engine due to negligence on my part. I figure if I'm going to dig into the engine I might as well replace the whole thing. My question lie in the fitment department. Now, I've seen the swap done on b6 models, no tiptronic trans though. I'm wondering will I absolutely need to swap out the tranny or what are my alternatives? Any info greatly appreciated.
nless you ca get a 2.7L with complete wiring harness its going to be costly... You will also need a 2.7L subframe and suspension. You will quickly overpower the tiptronic from the 1.8L if you are using an auto trans. My recommendation if you really want the 2.7L is to find a used crate motor with trans and wiring harness. then source the sub-frame and suspension from a junkyard. Not going to be a cheap conversion.
