2003 A4 1.8T value HELP
My Audi's engine is shot and won't run for more that a min or so before shutting down. My mechanic told me it would need a new engine which isn't cost effective at this point. I know it's gotta be worth more that the scrap value but not sure how much to ask, especially considering it's not in running order. Beside the engine, the rest of the car is in pretty good condition. Had 110,000 miles on it before the engine problem. Clean interior and exterior. It's a manual and the transmission and clutch are in good working order as well. I know it's hard to come up with a figure online but I was wondering what people think is a fair asking price for the car? I live in NJ, and I've been told the car is pretty much rust free. It's also got a newish set of aftermarket rims on it and I have the OEM wheels as well. Should I sell them all together? Should I sell the OEM set separately, or even put the OEM on the car and sell the aftermarket set separate from the car? What do you all think is the best value? What might a set of 2003 16" OEM rims fetch nowadays (no tires)? Thanks
Check the kelly blue book value of your car and find how much it will cost you to get the car in good running condition. Simply subtract that amount from the asking price of your car, possibly a little more for inconvenience. I'd say 1500-2200...
less then that! I went to a dealership just to estimate a trade for a new car. mind you my car is in immaculate condition engine running very well and they wanted to give me 1700 for it. . . . i laughed and told the dealer my wheels are worth more then that.
Just to give you an idea. I sold my A4 with the regular black plastic lowers and some areas where the clear coat was delaminating and a torn drivers seat which meant that the seat would not heat up. Other than that the car was in great shape with only 174000 kms on it.
Selling price was $4500.00Cdn
If your bodywork is pristine and the interior works completely and ou have roughly the same mileage push for 3500 so you get 3000. Like the above poster said, it really depends on how much it will cost to get the car back into perfect running condition. Sell the car with a few cosmetic thing wrong and you don't lose too much but if the guy can't drive it away it will underestimate it's true selling price.
