2004 a4 3.0q - dipstick issues :S
so i went in for an oil change today at jiffy lube since it was on my way home from work... they put in 5.7L of quaker state european synthetic 5w30...started the car...then let it cool down for 5 mins and checked the dipstick.... only a tiny little bit on the bottom showed on the dipstick...so we waited another 5 mins....checked again....same thing :S ...they added 200ml more oil... waited 5 mins....same thing! what the hell? does the oil take that long to settle in the 3.0 engine? the oil filter and oilpan screw were nice and tight :S
its parked in my driveway now i'll go out and check it in an hour.... they put almost 6 litres in the thing...im afraid to add anymore tho :S
by the way...anyone have any experience with the quakerstate european synthetic?

I used to work for Jiffy Lube, and after seeing the way some of those guys care for cars, I will NEVER take my car there to be serviced. I wouldn't be suprised if the guy just forgot how much oil he really put in the car.
Just out of curiosity, had you checked your oil recently? meaning do you know for sure that there was oil showing up on your dipstick before. If not, maybe your dipstick tube is clogged somehow? How many miles are on your car, and are you good about your oil changes being on time??
If you have to take it into a grease monkey place - make sure you walk them through the oil change - they are not trained by any means. I know lots of people who have left without plugs or caps on their car - stay away from those places - pay the extra 10 bucks and go to a Audi/VW/Porsche specialist even for an oil change.
Better yet - DIY!

To resolve your issue - I would keep track of how much oil i put in then see when it registers. If its more than 500ml I would take it back and make them do another oil change while you watch, and measure before leaving - its BS since lack of oil can cause major issues.
