Default 2004 Rear Brake Pad Replacement

I have a 2004 1.8 T Quattro and will be changing the rear brake pads.
Do I need the special tool to turn the piston clockwise while compressing it?
I have seen conflicting info for the 2004 A4. Any knowledge is appreciated, including your personal tips.

Thanks in advance John

I just changed my rears on my 2005 (first half, so still a b6) and i found that you do need that special tool to twist the piston in while also compressing it. I got mine for 20 bucks a Harbor Freight. (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=40732). you can order from their website or you can go to the store if there is one near you. Im sure they aren't the only ones with it but just where i got mine. Good luck. The change is easy as pie once you have that tool.
