We picked up a B6 3.0 today. It has a shudder/shake in drive or reverse. Fine in neutral/park.

We knew this going into buying it but since it was such a good price I figured I'd fix it.

I was thinking converter but the car reacts perfectly. The MIL was not on, but then they left the lights on, killed the battery, jumped it and a MIL but figured that was from long/hard start after battery jump.

Didn't pull codes for some reason my VAGCOM will not talk to the engine controller. Can't clear the MIL, VAGCOM says I need a Pro cable.

Anyway to pull codes without a VAGCOM, any dash button combo?

Car drives fine but get a shimmy/shake severe at 60, and varying upto 85mph. Not trans/engine related since it does it in neutral.

Funny same issue as my A6 and another reason we picked it up since the problems were so similar.

 

This is a FWD car i take it? You sure its not a CVT tranny?

 

Its a 3.0 Quattro tip.

After spending more time in it I'm starting to lean towards a mount or idle enrichment since the ECT is bad and needs to be replaced.

 

Well since you can't pull the codes it makes it a PITA to diagnose, if the mounts have more than 80K on them go ahead and replace them while you wait for the correct vag com cable.
