Question A4 B6 Dash problem~strange faulty! Help~!

I got a 2001 A4 B6 and the engine oil check light was on (yellow, warning light), and my repairer checked all the matters for me, everything is fine (oil pressure, oil level, changed engine oil and filer, and use laptop to check faulty and refresh the system)

However, the engine oil light is still on,
but the strange is: every time we reset the trip computer, the light will be off, but when I drive up to 100 kms(not speed,is distance), the light will suddenly on again, very disciplinary, once on at 99.4 kms, once like 99.3....

My repairer said, maybe is the dash problem? if dash is failure, must be charged lots of money for replacement.

Anyone here experineced such similar problem??? THX for help!

PS: Level sensor already be replaced. Caution, the STRANGE FAULTY is, why the light will on while the distance travel to 100 kms, after reset the computer!

Agreed, replace the level sensor.

FYI: Its the one bolted to the bottom of the oil pan.

Scan for codes. I suspect sludge. P0171 will give you a vacuum leak that could be the result of sludge. You could probably use seafoam to get rid of it.

Sludge would be a pressure issue. That light is for level, not pressure.

^^^^correct.
Yellow oil light= oil level
Red oil light= Bad juju.

you dont even have to read the whole first sentence to know that it is a yellow oil light. That means its level related and not pressure...
