So after years of driving B5s, I bought a nice 2005 A4 3.0 Quattro s-line ultrasport....let the fun begin..just kidding.

Attached picture of some audio cables in the trunk. I'm ASSUMING they are/were for an amp, but I'm asking because I don't know everything. It has 3 12 volt wires, 2 rca's and a CAT5 looking cable, so any ideas what WAS there? Brand? Make Model? Or if it's NOT for an amp, what was it for?

Car has factory symphony radio, in dash 6 cd player with a dice ipod adapter....

i was gonna say if it was on the left hand side closest to the trunk door, it would be for the sat radio module or phatnoise. but then the picture finally loaded and it looks like someone just rigged up cables through the vents. i suppose its too much work to remove the panel to route the cables?

 

the pic isnt very clear. look slike a rca cable. And a level input cable. Other then that everything is too far away to tell.

 

Thanks to both of you. It's a cat 5 and the SAT radio is already built in. I'm pretty sure it was for an amp. When I take the cover off they route toward the front of the car....I'll have an audi buddy of mine look at it and see what he thinks...

lucky yours came with sat. i have sport package too but mine didnt come with it :-( its prewired though.

 

Let me guess though, yours came with a Nav system built in and mine didn't?? ....

 

So I thought I'd ask a question before pulling the cover off above the back seats...those 2 RCA wires GO UP toward where the subwoofer is installed in the back, the cat 5 goes from the trunk to nothing under my front driver's side, and the power wires go to the power plug in the trunk...any ideas as to what this setup was?

take off the screen to the rear sub and see if there is a loc hooked up there?
