My cvt transmission has developed a whine...or at least I think it's the trans...difficult to isolate. It's rpm related and only happens in gear. Car has 170k miles. Fluid changed 20k miles ago. Any thoughts? ...trans oil pump? Torque converter? Can the pump be accessed from outside?
A rebuilt trans far exceeds the value of the car and used...huge gamble!
