A4 Expensive Timing Belt replacement

the 3.0 Liter is a 10.0 hours job. The 3.0 is not complex but requires the most Audi Special Tools. You did NOT get ripped off as far as the belt goes.
But this "service" i'm not sure about.
wha did this all include...? Did they send you on a cruise to the bahamas while you waited...?

If the manual says 105k miles, I would recommend doing it in the 80-90k range. That's the recommendation on the A6 forum. Audi is an interference engine and if the belt breaks, you ruin valves and pistons.
I hope you're wrong about the 3.0l being extra$. I had my A6 done a couple years ago and the complete Blauparts kits was $350 and indie labor was 6 hours. Total came to under $800.

It's an expensive service because of the labor involved. Granted if you do it enough it isn't that hard, but it is still time consuming. And when you go to a mechanic, you usually pay mostly for labor. To change the belt (at least on the 1.8t) you have to take the whole front end of the car apart.
