bought second hand a4 2.0 '01 last year and after a few months' of driving, the gearbox light at the dashboard started to show irregularities. At first, when the car is warmed up in the morning after a few min of driving, the D light would go on and off in intervals (not flashing). The duration of the light going off gets more frequently. A couple of weeks later, the R light suffered the same problem and the worst thing is, there is no power with the reverse gear at the same time. The car can slide back on level ground however cannot go uphill backwards.

I brought the car to the garage and was suspected to be a gearbox ECU problem. Shipping a ECU from Germany and got it changed - and the problem persisted. The garage suspected then that there is some malfunctioned sensor in the valve body and as a result changed the sensors - and issue persists... even with the new ECU fitted in also.

I dunno what i should do next... does it mean that i hv to change a new gearbox...?[/align]
