Default A4 riding rough and not shifting gears

Hello Everyone....New member to the forums, but I have been visiting and getting some great help, which I have really appreciated. I am now having problems with my car that is has been trying my last nerve. Its a 2005 A4 3.0 and long story short the car will turn on but rides very rough like it is misfiring and is difficult to switch gears. Now it switches fine without the car running which makes me think that the problem has to be clutch not tranmission, however why did the misfire and this problem start on the same day. Even crazier....not getting any error codes from the OBC scan. Now the car was at 100k so I changed the spark plugs for the misfiring and no change. Any help to get me off the ledge would be appreciated.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

Not yet...A buddy of mine with the needed tools is willing to work with me to replace the clutch, but I will likely take it to a shop first to verify that the issue is the clutch and not the clutch and/or transmission.

Use a VAG com, it stores the codes, you should have multiple missfires stored caused by the Coilpacks or harness, specially around that age of the car. Also on the difficult to shirt part... what do you mean? specify please, like cannot use the lever when you press the clutch? it grinds? does it make the car move when you get it in forward gear and reverse gear?

So I have spent hours and hours scouring this forum and the rest of the internet to find a solution to this problem. My car was doing the exact same thing. I am going to post this in case anyone else out there comes across this issue. Car is 2003 A4 3.0 Manual. 90,000 miles. The symptoms were the exact same as described above. The car ran rough, like it was misfiring but it wasn't. It gave no obdII codes. The gears were hard to get into while driving, but not when sitting with the engine off. The engine ran rough all the way through the RPM range getting worse at higher revs. I finally concluded that it was the dual mass flywheel that had failed. I pulled the trans and sure enough the flywheel had almost come apart in two separate pieces! I am just putting the car back together with the new flywheel and will update with how it runs. The flywheel was most definitely bad, so it has to run way better than it was.
