Advise on Purchase Needed
I have been searching for a new daily driver and the safety features of AWD. I have been fascinated by the Audi A4 for a long time now and been looking into purchasing one.
I have recently found the car I like. It’s a 2005 a4 s-line 6 spd manual, bright red, black leather. Only down side is that the car has 72k miles on it. The seller is in a hurry to get rid of it due to school expenses. I believe I might be able to drive away with it for somewhere around 16k.
Since you guys are the Audi experts, I want to get some opinions regarding the deal. Also, please let me know what are the things I should be checking to make sure the car is mechanically sound - basically, I want to know what kind of things break…
I’m going to be getting the VIN and calling Audi to see if they can provide me with the maintenance records.
Anything is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Obviously check the carfax but the most important thing is the maintenance records. Timing belt is due soon
Check if synthetic oil was used, ask him if he used premium gas, very important
Any modification done to the engine (bigger turbo, exaust...etc)
Check the clutch, if he knew how to drive it, it should still be good
As far as the price goes, it seems reasonable, if the car is in good shape
Hope this helped

Audinick81, thanks for the info. I'll make sure to follow up if i go through with the purchase.
Additionally, are these cars reliable enough to be daily driven? what kind of gas millage are you guys getting?
I'm used to daily driving my 5 liter mustang, so it shouldn't be any worse than that, averages about 14-15mpg.
