Default Alarm

So a couple weeks ago i started noticing that the "beep" when you lock the car was getting quiet. Its now completely gone. My question is where is this "beeper" at so i can fix it? Its a pain in the butt locking my car and not hearing the beep to tell if its locked or not. any ideas how to fix? is it possible to wire it to another alarm indicator or the horn?

alarm located in the trunk area underneath the carpet on the passsenger side lower section. You will have to pull the trunk panel out on the passenger side to access it. Your little battery for the alarm probably got shot or water corrided it and thats why it stopped working.

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to add a louder siren to the factory alarm?

alright i took it apart and found the alarm. no way to take it apart to check the batteries so i had to "dremel" it. got it all apart and found the batteries both exploded and the whole circuit board corroded. the plug has 3 wires that plugged into the alarm. any idea what they are? i notice that 1 is a ground and the other seems to be power that goes with the lights when you lock/ sound the alarm. any idea what the third is? might i be able to wire up one of the "cheap" horns from autozone etc to do the same thing, or should i replace? on a side note i've been hearing a clunking noise from the trunk when i take corners fast, and when i pulled out the passenger panel in the trunk i found one of these...

Post Alarm Siren

I have been doing my homework as well and I managed to tear out my old stock siren as well because it was dead. I ordered a DEI 514N siren since it was recommended on an Audi forum. When I got the siren, I realized that it was a 2-pin connector whereas I have a three-pin in the car. I was wondering if I could get help on either wiring the siren I got to the three wires somehow, or if anyone could kindly recommend a siren that chirps and is a three-pin that can hook up directly ($100 or less preferably). Thank you in advance.

nope i never fixed it... plan on buying a cheap horn or something and just trying that. looks like of the 3 wires, 1 is ground, 1 is a constant power (probably for charging the originals batteries) and 1 is only power when the alarm is supposed to beep. probably just try to hook the alternate power and ground up and see if that works.
