Are you referring to the double chirp noise when you lock it? Unless I'm horribly mistaken, that's not what the alarm does when it gets set off - that's just a discreet little sound to let you know the alarm has been armed. I've never set off the alarm on my A4, but I did accidentally on my mother's A6 once, and it flashed the lights and honked the horn - I would expect the A4 to be similar or the same.

No way. K when you lock it and it chirps, (mine is a single chirp) thats about as long as the alarm is. I just beeps and the lights flash..nothing impressive...there has to be something wrong..my horn works just fine its just that it doesn't go off with the alarm.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking saying double chirp - mine's just a single too, but I guess if it worries you that much about the alarm, get it checked out. Worst case, if you find that the factory alarm is functioning properly and you're still not satisfied with it, you can probably get some sort of aftermarket system installed.

ive always wondered if u can tap into the stock alarm and just hook up some air horns to it. The alarm is located in the rear passenger side of the car behind the cubby panel.

When myself and my buddies had air-ride minitrucks, they had em' on there. Easy to hook up and loud as hell haha. You can buy a little kit with a smaller viar compressor mounted to an air tank and a SMC dump valve. The valve only needs a positive and negative with a toggle somewhere splitting the positive. I wonder if it would be possible to splice into the positive line on the alarm horn to work in sync? The compressor power source is direct to the battery cut off with a pressure switch. This would be legit, I wanna look into it now !

Yeah, my alarm sounds like a "hover round" back up beeper! It really sucks!
