Audi 1.8t normally loud?

Default Audi 1.8t normally loud?

Are the 1.8t's quattros normally louder than a normal car from the factory?

What do you mean louder? The engine? Exhaust? Trans? Wheels? Torsen? What?

i'm assuming the engine/exhaust. is it louder than the v6?

Well, I don't have a V6 to compare to, but my 1.8T isn't exactly quiet, especially on the highway. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it's geared pretty short, and thus is turning ~ 3200 RPM @ 70MPH cruising.

(A 6-speed should therefore be somewhat less loud, because it's got a taller top gear.)

As far as luxury brands go, yes the engine/exhaust is a little louder. If you're comparing it to normal run of the mill cars, its about the same audible level.

yea, thanks for the answers and bearing with me. I know it's a dumb question. I'm just very analytical when purchasing new vehicles. And hopefully come Saturday I will be a proud Audi owner
