Exclamation Audi A4 Auction Lemon Cake...

Hi there fellow B6's. I love my 2.0ltr multitronic a4, its on a Y plate and looks very clean, at auction I got her for £1300!? Only got 115000 miles, 1 owner from new. Hardly any wear on it..

I have 5 faults and I want to know of you think this is a good deal and also some tips if you have them, Ill be copying text in from another post I did in newbies section, Hope you guys read on and help me out!?

Transmission issue..
My car has problems sometimes when i go to pull away, it doesnt select D and revs excessively. I am have a diagnostic done on it tomorrow I hope. To get around this problem I just chuck it into first on manual select, after that when i flick it back to D prnd still flashes but it finds the gears as normal? I find this quite confusing, when I tried throttling it the car stuttered around 4000revs and if prnd isnt flashing before, it does at this point. The car overall behaves if you are easy on it.

Internal heater...
The controls on the dash work normally however nothing happens, no hot or cold air, nothing blows at all (apart from the car itself at the moment). Is this a costly fix or common fault? is there anything to check?

Both key fobs do not unlock car...
I have replaced the battery in one of the remotes and swapped them over following the hard reset procedure however nothing is happening, does anyone have an idea here? audi have stated i may require a new key fob but to be honest surely its the receiver end.. does anyone have any ideas?

Intermittent red oil light...
From what I have read this fault is common due to the aperture of the oil filter, is this correct? It rarely happens and hasnt come up with anything today, low oil pressure is a concern but its not on constantly.

Battery doesnt seem to retain charge...
Im not sure if these faults could be because there isnt enough juice, with a multimeter what sort of output should i be looking for?

I bought the car hoping to get a good deal even if there are niggles, its had a regular service every 10,000 from what i gather and is due the 115000 mile service. it is missing the front eye cover (a sign of it being recovered) so i hope the transmission isnt a nasty problem.. I am based in cornwall, near plymouth if any of you gurus own a commercial garage and would like to help, id be willing to travel to you..

Thanks in advance
Chris

You would probably have an 8k bill if you took it to a dealer. The trans is a major problem, the keys need to be programmed, the red oil light is a big deal.

I guess the only logical think to do is get a diagnostic done and find out what the damage is, if its too expensive then I guess she will have to go back to auction..
