I just got a 2004 audi a4 usp and i cant quite figure out how to find out my average mpg. My buddys 02 a4 tells you what you are averaging. Mine only tells me how many miles i can get out of the tank.

you will only get it if you have the technology package. on your wiper control stalk, there is a toggle type button on the very end, press this up or down and look at the display...it will cycle through the options, one being instant MPG and another being average MPG. you can reset this by hitting the reset button on the bottom of the stalk.

if you dont have these buttons, you'll have to do it the old fashion way.

 

The numbers the computer gives you are a little inflated (on the MPG anyway). I always punch my miles and gallons put in when I fill up. Make sure I'm in between 24-27.
