Default B6 Wiper Blades

Hi all, just registered and have read the forums a bit but had a simple question.

My wiper blades are in dire need of replacement. From a bit of cursory internet research, I've found that I can get blade "refills" from Advance Auto Parts that will fit my B6 A4 (2003 1.8T quattro, for those interested). Most people have also expressed that those refills are a pain to install and you can easily break a part of the armature they fit into, meaning you would just have to get an OEM part anyway.

I've not been able to definitively find a replacement online other than those refills, and I don't have a dealer nearby (closest is about 30-45 minutes, I hate going there unless it's absolutely necessary) to get one there easily. Can anyone help point me in the right direction or give me some further guidance?

Thanks.

Just go ahead and upgrade to the b7 style. The b6 ones last for about 2 months.

Does that require anything special to be done? Or can you just buy B7 blades and put them in a B6 A4?

Barring that, I'm still looking for the blades for the B6. Still could use any help that is out there.

Yeah, you need the arms and blades. It costs around $100. Do it now, or waste money on junk parts (the factory blades) and then do it later when you get tired of replacing or having crap blades.

To be honest, I don't want to spend that much for something like this. I'm only going to have the car for another 2-3 years. I just want to find the part I need, the B6 blades. If anyone can help with that, I would appreciate it.

ECS tuning will have them. Seriously though, if you replace the blades when they wear out you will replace them 3 or 4 times in 2-3 years. The blades are about $40.

I paid $18 for each blade from VW Passat at a VW dealer. I couldn't find any other factory fitment for my car at normal auto stores.
If you screw up with the rigging on non factory parts, you'll have to replace the windshield if the blade comes off while you're using it.
