Hi all, bought a b6 1.9 tdi a couple of weeks ago. Today when pulling away from a junction there was a loud backfire then a intermittent loss of power and a whooshing noise when trying to accelerate. I pulled over and it was ticking over but hunting a bit, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

 

Hey guys, just wanted to give an update in case anyone else has this happen to them. The problem was the bottom right inter-cooler hose had popped off (the bang!) and of course the whooshing noise would be the open end of the pipe from the turbo. Two minute fix and all good.
