ok so ive had my car for about 7 months now and its been running great till this past weeked. I went to this little place to get a free trial of the stage 1 apr softwear it was fine for a couple hours then i got a check engine light. i called the guy back and told him about it, he said that hes sold countless amounts of the softwear and noone has ever had a problem and that my light is probably totally non-related to the trial. Then he said i could come back on monday(today) and he can scan it for me to see what codes are popping up. i figured ok ill wait.. the next day i still have the light and i decided to go out. i go to my friends house and then we decide to go somwhere i get down the street and my car starts fluttering as if im having a misfire. i look at my check engine light and its flashing ...so we go back to my friends...we pop the hood and notice that a check valve was broke. i had a vacum leak. i decided to gimp my car home (i live less then a mile away i did 30 the whole way ) when i got home i poped the hood and there was a baaad smell and my cat was red hot. i looked at my trans and ive got some carmel colored waxy looking stuff glazzed all over it as if plastic melted on there ...i went to the dealer today and i fixed the broken valve but it still wont run rigt and my check engine light still flashes... what should i do ?
does anyone think i can get somthing out of this guy who gave me the trial?
anyone had a similar problem?
i just hope this dosent rape my wallet

 

I had the exact same thing happen to me (fluttering and blinking CEL). It turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator going bad. It's a cheap ($) part.

P.S. What codes are you getting?

 

im not sure i havent taken it to the dealer yet im sapposed to do that today ...quck question where does the fule pressure regulator go? cuz i saw somthing that looked weird to me but i wasent sure what it is
