Boost control or chip, confused?!!
Okay i have an 2003 1.8t, everything is stock & i am just looking to get a little more power out of the car, nothing crazy because i need it as a daily driver as of right now. Can I put a boost control in the car without damaging anything?, I am not going to put the boost all the way up, I am not that stupid but Ive also heard that its a waste of time and that it can cause damage and to chip it instead? What should i do?
almost everyone will tell you to get a chip... its pretty controversial not sure why but i did the apr free trial its awesome (but its $500) and i plan to get a tune when i can jump to ko4 or stage 2 so why waste the money to get tuned again but for 20 bucks i bought voodoo mbc from ebay ($16.99) and a diode ($2.00 part # nte5068a) and i cranked the boost to 15psi it pulls great and holds boost longer. there only drawbacks i noticed to the mbc is partial throttle is a little odd but you learn to manage it and its not that bad.
