Default Car only runs when manifold pressure/temp sensor is disconnected

Hi, I hadnt used my Audi 1.9tdi b6 for about 3 weeks. Came to use it, it started but was a bit hesitant and wouldnt rev above appprx 2000rpm. Drove it for approx half a mile, was underpowered then gave symptoms of fuel starvation with the addition of throwing out blue smoke before cutting out. Would start and run for about 3 seconds then cut out. Called RAC. He noticed the battery/bulkhead area was full of water. He drained this and diagnostics showed the engine mount solenoid relay faulty(which I'm aware will not cause a running problem) and fuel pump relay problem 17932. He said if you dry all the relays under the ecu out it might work again. I did this but I still had the same problem. I replaced the fuel pump relay(has number 395 on it) but this didnt make any difference. I changed the fuel filter as well. Thing is I tried to see if it would run without connecting the turbo inlet manifold and it ran albiet not very well ( seemed to smoke a little and wouldnt rev over 2000, assume it was in limp home mode). If I refitted the inlet manifold and pressure/temp sensor it would do what it was doing before i run for 3-5 seconds and cut out. Disconnect sensor and it runs. I've had the ecu apart but cannot see any signs of water ingress there.
I've got one of those cheap diagnostic readers which naturally shows the code 17564 (manifold presure sensor fault) and 17569 ( manifold temp sensor fault). When I connect the sensor the fault codes are no longer there. The only fault code that remains is 17944.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Paul, thanks for your reply. Checked fuses today, those by driver's door and the others by ecu and all are ok.

car still doing the same
thing, ie only runs when inlet manifold pressure/temp sensor is disconnected. If I connect it the car will run for about 4 seconds then cut out. If i restart it runs for less time. Appears to be a fuel starvation problem, but I've taken the fule pipe of at the outlet end of the filter and fuel comes out at quite a rate. I was thinking maybe the turbo has stopped working but this surely will allow the engine to still run but not at higher revs?
Maybe there is something wrong with the ecu. I think the water in the plenum area may have been there for quite a while and may have got into the ecu, but when I dismantled it there was no obvious signs of water damage. When the breakdown guy originally looked at it the diagnostic said fuel pump relay. My diagnostic tool said the same thing, I changed it but still have the same problem. What I dont understand is if it is the fuel pump relay as the engine runs of a mecahnical tandem pump mechanically connected to the camshaft. Is the relay just a cut off?

thinking it might be one of the other relays under the ecu, has number 219 on it. I'm lead to believe its a relay for the ecu amonst other things. Have ordered one from audi, will fit wednesday and see what happens.
