Default Car shaking

while i was driving home from school my car was starting to shake every time i accelerate. My tires are almost bald but i wouldn't think it would cause this much of a problem, the only thing i can think of that can cause this problem are the snub mounts or a bent axle so i am lost right now. What do u guys think? Oh and also my car is a 2002 audi a4 1.8t FWD with 128,982 miles.

If it's a constant shaking at high speeds, I suspect a wheel balancing issue

I would start with a new set of tires (since yours are bald) and see if that resolves your issue.

i had the same problem last week when i came home from vegas. my steering wheel would shake out of no were every time i accelerate. so i took it to get my axel looked at and all i needed was a tire rotation and a balance and that fixed everything. im sure thats all you need besides some new tires.

The car doesnt shake at high speeds it only does it when i accelerate. I've had put H&R springs on with the stock shocks like for 10 months, so could my shocks cause this problem from wearing out maybe?

silveraudib6, thats the same exact thing thats happening to me. Im guessing you took your car to the dealer for a balace and what kind of balance do they do and if its a wheel alignment i already did that.

i took my car to firestone cuz i had a free tire rotation. but as for the balance i have no clue what they did. i remember i asked him to look at my axel and she showed me that everythin was fine and there were no leaks anywere and al he said was there balancing my tired and they were going to rotate them and that was it. and it solved my problem

usually vibration like that is tire/wheel, tierod/ends, or warped rotors. obviously there are more things that it could be, but these are usually where i would start.
