Clutch Master/Slave Cylinder?
Hey guys, I did a search on the forums, but really haven't been able to find much help. I have a problem with my Clutch pedal. When I press it, it doesn't engage the clutch. I've tried pumping the pedal to see if it would increase the pressure, but that did not help. Just a little while ago, I was able to bleed the slave cylinder. Fluid was coming out of the cylinder when bled with a pressure bleeder. After pressing the clutch pedal again, it did not engage the clutch, but it did feel a little more stiff than it did. I tried bleeding it the old way with someone just pressing on the clutch pedal, and when we did this, the pedal stayed on the floor, and would not come back out unless we pulled it out.
Has anyone ran into this before? Does it sound like it could be the Master cylinder or the slave cylinder for the clutch? From what I have read, it doesn't sound like it is the clutch itself that has gone bad. This all happened out of no where, it wasn't an issue that slowly kept getting worse.

ive run into a similar problem with my car, but i know that if you disconnect the slave at all and press on the clutch pedal the high pressure will ruin your slave cylinder. is there just no feeling whatsoever in the pedal? or...? i have a bentley manual for all audis 2002-present so if you figure anything out i can look it up on the app and let you know whatever you need or want to know
Thanks for the reply 02A4kid. There is no pressure on the clutch. When we use the pressure bleeder, it does build up some pressure on the clutch, but after pressing it down once, it goes back to no pressure. When we bleed the slave cylinder by pressing down on the clutch pedal, it does not bounce back from the floor. My father and I believe it could be the slave cylinder, but we are looking to see if anyone has had this happen or would know for sure. I'd hate to buy the slave cylinder, and that not be the cause of the issue.
In closure, we replaced the master clutch cylinder, and that did not resolve the issue. I brought it into a garage, and they said it was the clutch itself. Replaced the clutch, and all is back to normal.
