Default coilover woops...

So I just finished the install on my Stasis coilovers, test drove the car with no problems, and loved the new feel and look. Everything appeared to be dandy until yesterday when I put on my 19 inch summer wheels I was getting some slight rubbing. I took off the front wheels and raised one side up about half an inch. When I started raising up the other side I noticed the spring was upside down! I wasn't about to take out the whole assembly again to switch it so i finished raising it and took the car off the lift.

The car drives fine and there is no difference in the handling from left to right. Will this cause any sort of problem? Is the spring compressing at different rates if its upside down?

It could fall off for one! Well it won't come completely off but it could slip over the bottom plate and bend/break the coil. I had those same coilovers on my S4.

I took a 4 hour trip to Vermont yesterday with no problems. The picture is deceiving, but both end of the springs were the same size and it fits perfectly around the spring perch, so I don't think it will fall off. Either way I will switch it over next week when i get home.

The kit was $1200 and took me probably 10 hours total to install it by myself... but I didn't have the correct spring compressor tool

Sweet! What were you doing up in my neck of the woods? Well, in Vermont atleast.

And the ride looks sweet! Jealous of the 6 speed on an 03, you put in a STS yet?

Yeah i got the STS off stratmosphere.com and love it. That was my first mod after exhaust. My gf lives in Bennington but I went to school at Castleton and still visit friends up there. I pass through Rutland pretty frequently.

Yeah, my girlfriend went to UVM, then Castleton. You ever stop by the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center by chance? I worked there from 2002-2008ish.

If you did, I was the big goofy redhead wandering around... lol

You will more than likely be "ok" driving around with that for now. The way your front strut is attached top and bottom will hold it in. But there's always the slight chance of distaster. Your call. Get them right ASAP
