Funny, i did the 312mm (3.0) upgrade on my 05 Ultrasport 1.8 and am so happy with the results! Stops so much better than the 288mm rotors. Maybe it's the pads?? I'm using carbon/ceramics now, was running srtaight ceramics. Alot more brake dust, but stops alot better.

Good luck with your S4 upgrade, let us know the results!

yeah, I tried 3 different pads and 2 different sets of rotors with the 312mm upgrade. I just did not have any luck, lots of squealing and poor breaking power.

I am going to be selling my complete 312mm fronts (pads, rotors, calipers w/carriers)

but the S4 upgrade went well, I still needed to grind the caliper a bit to clear my wheel with 15mm spacers. I had to grind it because if I went any bigger than a 15mm spacer, I would have fender clearance issues.

I am just using Raybestos pads, and are working great. Pads, rotors and calipers are all from 2001 S5
