Coolant and fuel gauge problems.
Hi everyone,
So I just purchased my '04 a4 1.8t. When I got the car I thought that it had a full tank of gas as the needle passes the full mark to the actual little gas symbol. It has been 2 days now and it does not move. What is wrong?? Is there another way for me to check my actual gas left?? Also I was driving all day and it was fine, but when I started driving uphill in the freeway, the temperature needle whent to the 3/4 hot mark and my coolant level light started to blink and make noise. When I parked I checked the coolant level and it was between the max/low so im assuming it's fine. Any Ideas on either issue?? Thanks

If it has over 80k miles on it the water pump and timing belt might need replacing. Check with whoever you bought the car from. As far as the fuel gauge, your fuel sender might be kaput, fairly simple to replace.
