Default Cracked Crankcase pipe assembly??

So I'm at the stealership today getting my coilpack recall taken care of and they do their 28 point inspection. They tell me that I have a crankcase pipe assembly crack which needs to be replaced, as well as the valve cover gasket and cam adjuster gasket. I have a 2005 A4 B6. Is this typical? They want $1351 to do this. Is this reasonable? I assume this is something thats not a do it yourself type project. Any advice?

There is a plastic pipe that goes into the three way breather that is known to break. its under the intake manifold closer to the back of the engine.

OMG $1300? Well to replace the breather pipe?? I replaced mine for free. Mine was cracked and all I had to do was take off the coolant reservoir, cut off that pain in the butt clamp off the tree way that was connected to the breather hose and pull out the ring for the bottom of the pipe. Very simple once you get that clamp off the 3 way hose.. wow..

Yea, I had a slow oil leak. I called a local Volkswagen dealer who quoted me under $700 so I had they take care of it. Now that its fixed, there's a huge performance increase! It's as if I was only getting maybe 80% acceleration prior to getting it fixed.
