CV clicking and vibration
I have a 2003 A4 TQM with 140k miles.
Over the last month it started with a small and sporadic vibration in the steering wheel and now it is more pronounced yet still sporadic. But also getting the clicking in the front passenger side. I do not have a pull to the side at all.
This is from Blauparts site: (who happens to be not far from me)
A bad outer Audi CV joint will make a clicking noise when accelerating and turning from a stop sign. This is a strong indicator that the outer Audi CV joint is worn. As a general rule the inner Audi CV joint seldom, if ever, makes this clicking noise. The symptoms of a bad inner Audi CV joint on is when vibration, shuddering or torquing is felt through the cars steering wheel and is noticed upon straight line accelerating (steering will pull to the left or right).
My questions:
Clearly an outer CV, but is it for sure the inner as well with the vibration?
I do 150 highway miles round trip on my commute to work, do I need to be worried that this is going to go bad very quickly? I need two weeks before I can get any garage space or time to work on it. Should I be worried that it won't last another 900 miles?
Blauparts lists $80 for the outer CV replacement. Good price for New German parts?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

While you, or your mechanic are replacing the outer CV boot, check the inside one. If the boot is split, then you'll know you need to do both sides. If the boot was open to the elements long enough then the actual CV joint may have gone bad. In that case, you may just want to replace the entire axel.
