Default CVT HORROR STORY!

Last Novermber I noticed a slight judder on gear shifts at low rpm. I took my 2004 A4 1.8 Multitronic 52,000 KM to the Dealer just last month. They said there's nothing wrong with it. I asked them to run a test drive for a third round. They noticed the judder and agreed to check the transmission. The diagnostic tests did not show any error codes so they insisted there's nothing wrong with the transmission.

I asked them to double check what is causing the judder ( not knowing the cost of replacing the transmission assembly is $19,000! here in my country).
after almost two weeks, they finally recomended replacing the whole transmission assembly since they do not do overhauls.

Since the cost is almost like buying a new car, I asked them if there is support from the MAIN AUDI. They said they've done everything but no support this time.

I talked to the sales agent and told him about my problem. I asked if I can get a good deal, or goodwill offer if I upgrade my car to a new A4.

I got a phone call from the sales agent this morning, and this is the horrible news. My A4's appraisal value is almost close to ZERO! I asked if I replace the part with a brand new transmission assembly what would be the value of my car. His answer is, the value will be just the same as the new Transmission or even less!

I'll never consider buying an AUDI in my country (Philippines)!!!!!! :-(
I really need help. I already sent AUDI AG a complaint. Hopefully they'll respond immediately.

Damn that sucks man. I find it hard to believe that your car is worth $0. Especially knowing that I just spent $75 on a fuel filter, I know there are plenty of parts on your car that would be worth money including the engine and all the components. If they don't want to give you money for your car I would check with another dealer. You could part it out and sell everything and get a pretty good return. Part out panels, engine parts, interior parts and basically everything, you'll find that the car may be worth more in pieces than it is as a whole. sorry for your misfortune. Goodluck

The warranty expired two years ago.
Someone adviced me to sell the car and not ot have it appraised by dealers. I have a friend in the US who is a Euro cars tech expert. He can't believe this since my car isrelatively new -52,000km or 31200 miles. My only option is to find a transmission assembly surplus. He's helping mefind thisin the US. I have no chioce but to sell the car though I still love my A4. I can't rely on the Audi service in the Philippines.

You can go to www.shokan.com and see if they can ship it to the Philippines, its a long shot, but it would save you thousands using a used part to quickly sell it.

Another option, (what i would do) is have your mechanic buddy part out the car, the car may not be worth anything, but the parts are worth thier weight in gold. If you sold half of the body parts and half of the engine/drivetrain parts, you could get back about $8,000-$10,000 US.

Default CVT HORROR STORY, WITH A HAPPY ENDING!

After talking to a fellow Filipino, a Euro Car Expert Tech residing in the US, I regainedmyhopes in fixing the car. The tech said he can't believe the transmission needs replacement at 31200 miles. He insisted that the fluid must be flushed and replaced. AUDI PGA, the official dealer in the Philippines said there is no other option but to replace the transmission assembly (at$19,000!!!)because the transmission fluid is still in great condition. Filipino tech in the UStold mehe does not believe what PGAsaid and insisted that I have the ATF flushed and replaced. I went to the former AUDI dealer AUTO PROMINENCE, they recommended flushing the fluid properly. They showed me the flushed fluid from the A4, and it's very dark compared to the new fluid. After putting the new fluid, we made a test drive. The judder was eliminated. I drove my car again for a few more rounds to check if the juddering's totallyeliminated and THANK GOD- NO MORE JUDDERING at gear shift!

It's just so sad that the official AUDI dealer in the Philippines is totally unreliable and incompetent! I'm so glad that AUtO PROMINENCE is still capable of servicing Audi cars. :-)
