Default electrical issue

My 2003 a4 3.0 has decided to have a electrical problem. The traction control and check engine came on, then the windows and wipers stopped working and alarm system went crazy. The cental lock still works however.I vagcomed the car and 1 common fault appears in most addresses no communication from steering module. The comfort and central electric does not respond either. All the fuses are good. I lifted the carpet and no water infiltration is seen. Looked at the can hi/lo wires for a breakage but found nothing, can the steering module cause this? Please any advice will be appreciated before I go to the dealer

So the convenience doesn't read, but everything else is messed up. Sounds like a small short/open somewhere. It could be one of the little wires coming out of the socket but you said you already saw there. Does anything else respond? I don't think your steering module can cause something like that.

Is there anything you were doing to the car/with the car before this happened?

Nothing was done to the car except 3 weeks before it all started I installed an ipod harness to the radio.Radio seems fine and responds to scanning. The only other thing I noticed is the lights are acting funny,it has daytime running lights and the fogs are going on and off.

Sounds like the ECM then took a dump. If you can't access anything and now you have DRLs then probably there's a short in the ECM causing the coding to change intermittently. That's at least what I think happenned, unless there's a loose connector going to it or water in it I don't see any other probable cause.

I finally fixed the problem, took a chance and ordered a steering control module 350 $ . Installation was easy ,removed steering wheel and all the plugs. Installed the control unit and everything lit up as normal. Can not believe one unit goes south and everything turns off. Now I love my audi again

Cool, did you get the module from the dealer or a private seller.
