ESP after break pad change
Hello,
I have an Audi A4 Cabriolet 1.8T Manual 2005. I recently had the front brake pads replaced at an Audi dealership. After I got the car back, I noticed that the ESP engages much less frequently than it used to. There are particular places where if I put my foot down, I can usually always get the ESP light to flash. But now it doesn't, and it appears to be coming on much less as time progresses, even with violent maneuvers. The ESP is not lit up permanently either, so there is no indication of a fault. Is it normal for the ESP to change behavior after having new brake pads?
On a separate, or perhaps related problem, the engine began to have difficultly starting (i.e. not instantly), then the EPC light stayed on whilst driving with a loss of power. But after starting a few more times the engine is now starting fine, with no warning lights, so it has appeared to fix itself! Should this be checked up on, or just ignore it?
Any help with what these problems might be would much appreciated. I think its time to invest in a VAG-COM cable.
Thanks
Rich
