Default EVAP Pump woes / Vag-Com magic?

Good Evening, all:

I'm chasing an elusive ghost. Car is a 99 A4 2.8L 30V. Here's the problem:

17884 - EVAP Leak Detection Pump: Insufficient Vacuum
P1476 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: 0000 0100

So, today being a nice day, I got into the car to dig out the vacuum pump. Sure enough, high in the driver side rear wheelwell, there it sits. Took it out, cleaned it as best I could, bench-tested it, re-lubed the seals, reinstalled.....and, of course, it threw the error again.

Being that I'm pretty confident that the pump is ok, where do I keep on looking? Where does the vacuum line that drives the pump connect into the manafold? How else can I troubleshoot the system? I have a full Vag-com to work with.

Second question: if I can't find the leak, is there a way to use Vag-Com to reprogram the set point for the vacuum system? Here's my thought: If the system is currently set to have a range from, say, 5-10mm of vacuum, could I reprogram it to accept a range from 0-20mm, so that way just about any value would be acceptable and not throw a CEL?

Thoughts/Suggestions are welcome!

-Red
