Default few questions regarding transmission fluid change, pls help!!

I am thinking to change transmission fluid. The car is 2004 A4 3.0q running at 71000 miles now. Here are my questions:

1. ECS Tuning sells transmission fluid complete kit, is it good?

2. Do I need triple square (12 points) to remove drain plug? I heard 3.0 engine only need 17mm allen?

3. How many liter of ATF do I need?

4. Any special steps I need to pay attention?

Thanks for your help.

look under your trans pan and see what socket it will take... mine was an allen key. but if its the 12 point, pepboys sells a set for $10 or so

I bought a kit from blauparts.com and Im going to try. I do not haw a bg com to meaure tranny temp so that's what I'm worried about. I know the procedure to fill but how long does it usually take from a cold engine/tranny to reach 40 degrees Celsius? I'm goin to fill it up as much as I can before starting, then start it and pump ATF consistently while someone goes through the gears twice. I'm just not sure when to stop ( tyranny fluid reaches 40 degrees) any ideas? Thanks

That's just over 100*F... Just warm engine to operating temp by driving around a little. This will warm the fluid up. Granted the trans will warm faster than the engine will if your driving it around

You can get a cheap digi thermometer from harbor freight and use it to monitor temps. I've seen posts claiming that this worked just fine.
You can always pickup a $25 knockoff Vag.com off the net (search VCDS or 11.11.10 or 11.11.11 or Hex Can) that will read those banks/info.
