Default Flashing Hazards and Beeping??? Help

Sorry for the book:

Driving home from work yesterday I stopped off at a store for a minute. When I got back to my car and starting it up, the hazards started flashing and the car started beeping. The flashing hazards were actually at a faster rate then the normal hazards, and the beeping wasn't the horn, but was more of a computer beeping sound coming from the trunk area.

I didn't think it was my car at first but it was. After a minute, the beeping stopped and then the flashing, but then it happened again while I was driving home, the flashing/beeping stopped and then started again. When I got home and shut the car off, the flashing and beeping was still happening.

Does anyone know what may have caused this, and what I should do?

I have an '04 A4 3.0L 6speed with 64K, Thanks.

Don't know for sure whats causing that. Never had that problem. First thing I would do is disconnect battery for a few minutes and reconnect it see if that clears it up. Try it out and get back to us for further assistance if that doesn't solve it. Sorry I have no further info just know what it's like to wait for a response so this will give you a good place to start.Maybe someone else has more experience with that problem and will have posted it while you try this out. Good luck!
