Default Gauges

Anyone mount gauges in their b6? I hate the ones on the steering column and air vents. They look stupid to me. I want a 2 gauge pod. I was thinking of just buying one on those nice plastic moulded ones and putting it right on the dash in the middle, angles to face the driver. Anyone do this? Or any thoughts?

I'm with you BigDog, don't care for the steering column or vent gauges. Been looking around myself and not finding much. I actually want to put small dual guage right in lower middle of instrument cluster, inset to the sealed cluster shield. Just need to find the right small guages. I'll keep you posted if I find anything.

Podi's prices may be high, but the fitment of their pod is so good that I've had people mistake it for a factory part in my car. It literally looks like it belongs there.

I know its a good fitment but i really hate column mounted gauges. I dont want them right there in my face clustered with all the other gauges behind them. I want it up on the dash where i can just glance over at them.

If u want a oem fitment podi is the only way to go. You get the cheap gauges from jegs and they will look out of place and cheap! Just spend and get the right stuff in the first place! They have other options you know also having the digital gauges.

I found universal dash pods which look very nicely built for $14 plus shipping. I'll get color matched paint for them and put in a boost gauge and an egt gauge. I work on mine and a bunch of other peoples cars and I am very gozod at what I do. I was just hoping there would be someone out there who makes dash pods specifically for out cars whicv would cut out a lot of the fitment work, filing and sanding, and bending to get the right curves to fit the dash perfectly. I'll post up pics and maybe a diy of what I end up with in case someone else wants dash mounted gauges also.
