Default getting back into audis :)

I would like to get back into audis, i have owned a 1998 a4 2.8q automatic in the past. Currently I found a decant looking deal that I am going to go and take a look at tomorrow. 2002 AUDI A4 QUATTRO1.8 TURBO REALLY NICE!!!
I dont know much about the 1.8t engine since i have owned the 2.8 in the past. As far as looking for leaks or problems with the car I am good at that, but i have no idea how to tell if the turbo is good or if its going bad. Can you guys give me some info on how to check for turbo problems on this car? Also, what do you guys think about this car from what you can see? I will probably try to get it for 5k if its in good shape.

Cam/crank seal leaks. Ask about timing belt should of had at least 1 done. I would look under the car for any/all leaks. For turbo drive/ listen. Also pull the tip check the shaft

i was told that the timing belt was replaced , clutch also replaced. what do i listen for in a turbo? i heard that it would sound kind of like a dentist drill? (do you maybe have any link to a video of an audi with a bad turbo)
I also dont get when you mean about pulling the tip and checking the shaft? lol

thats actually the only engine that i wanted when getting an a6. im not really into the engine modding part. my goal is to lower it, get some nice rims and do some exterior mods. first up is installing my HID and adjusting the headlights since they are aimed up so high. will also need some LED tails
