Heat Issue
Hello,
I own a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T. The other day i was checking my fluid levels and got distracted by a phone call. Ended up not screwing the coolant reservoir cap back on all the way before i closed the hood. I ended up driving about a total of 15 miles and never realized the cap was not on all the way until the next morning when my coolant light came on. Anyway, i added more coolant and now my heat only seems to work after i drive for a while. I went to start my car and defrost the windows this morning and when i came out ten minutes later the windshield was still frosty.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg

you do have air in the system. there are a few ways to bleed it out. the simplest is to removed the coolant resevoir cap and start the car and wait for the thermostat to open. Could take up to thirty minutes sometimes. it may spit coolant out and make a little mess. theres a bleeder screw on the main coolant pipe and a bleeder hole at the heater core itself
