Default Help Figuring out this part!

Take a look at the pictures. Its the plastic round piece with a hole in the middle. It adapts to the orange piece. It is connected to a hose which connects to the back of the engine. When the piece was detached the car would rpm would flutter and eventually the car would turn off.

I'm trying to order a new piece. Right now I have it taped together. We'll see how long that last!

Thank you

fyi, prior to this I had my codes read and there was a problem with the Mass Air Flow.. (don't have the number, lost it). Never got it fixed, because the engine light would come off and on.

Default Just got one today

Just replaced one of these today, beware there are 6 of them and another 2 of mine are about to go...it is called a 'check valve' but the audi dealers will not know what it is so give them the part #058 905 291 and be sure to take ur vin number..it will set you back $47 which is ridiculous, if you are willing to take the risk you can buy it online for cheaper but frankly based on past experience with these cars you are better off with genuine parts.

I am going to purchase a few spares online and keep them for emergencies...

Ur temporary fix will work...I did the same the only problem is that after a while u will mess up ur ignition coil(S)..another $50 EACH!!!

Be careful when fixing this or u might end up messing the other hoses...be gentle..

Good luck!!

Doesn't look to me like you're talking about the check valve. That thing in the second picture that's connected to the hose that's going into the intake manifold is a check valve, and they all look pretty much the same. Is that the part you're talking about? If it is there is a company that makes these and sells them for about 4 dollars.

Default .

The part in the first picture doesn't show up in the second picture, but it connects to that piece that has orange on it. The car is still drivable so I'm taking down to Audi and forking out what ever they charge me. I'll let you guys know what the piece is called in case it ever goes bad for anyone else.

It almost looks like you're talking about the suction pump....does this look anything like the part?

Pretty sure he is talking about the suction pump. I'm getting one of the those as well from partsgeek.

Default Help Figuring out this part!

I am currently a one man show who has been in the print and web business for 5 years...working out of a home office. I am at a point where I cannot grow my business anymore because I spend many days selling jobs and nights doing the production on web and print projects. I am tapped out of hours. The most logical next step would be to hire a part-time salesperson who could do the selling while I do the production. The person I'm currently talking to has a lot of experience with large clients (proposals, bids, customer management, etc..) and is currently at a large agency as an account rep. They also have a large rolodex of past contacts. This person is looking to leave the agency and work part-time from home and is looking for an opportunity. After talking with this person for 4 hours at Starbucks, they are a perfect fit in my eyes.
