Just joined up for some help and advice on buying an audi and hopefully ongoing help and support keeping it on the road with minimum cost etc..?
Im considering a 2003/2004 ish A4, probably diesel but not completely ruling out a petrol model..
any good/bad engine choices to be made?? etc..
all help and advice very welcome..
Thanks in advance and hope to hear from ya soon

I would check the reliability thread found here: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b6-...ability-99400/ Just know that our cars are not UNreliable, they just take a bit more time and effort to keep in working condition than some other cars.
BUT, if you care at all about the performance side: The 3.0 V6 is terrible to upgrade (extremely expensive and hard to find upgrades), but the 1.8T is fantastic for this.
You should look at 1.8T Quattros as first priority, then 3.0, then FWD. Sadly, I don't know enough about the diesels to help much. When looking at these cars with over 75 or so thousand miles, make sure the owner has done water pump and timing belt, or has it scheduled to do so. It could be a costly operation for you to pay for it out-of-pocket.
Good luck, and if you decide to get one, welcome to the Audi family!
