All you need to do is roll it all the way up and all the way down, then try it again.

^^I second that....I just changed my window regulator a couple weeks ago and that's exactly what I had to do.

thanks...tried that first but didn't work. It goes up to top, drops 3 ", will go all the way down. If I repeat a few times will not work at all unless I leave it sit. Must be some pressure protection (child) switch...still trying to get it to work.

Note: I do not recommend aftermarket window regulators as the bracket/pin which fits into the window bracket (black piece) is not ribbed and is much more difficult to adjust/hold.

More ideas appreciated.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes, and trying again? If it still isn't working, the fact that you used an aftermarket regulator could be your problem. Where did you purchase the regulator?

Ok, so if the windows work but it rolls down at the top, then the regulator is probably causing pressure, that's what would normally happen when something gets stuck on the window. I don't know if you utilized an original replacement part or not, but I do know that there was one of those e-bay regulators giving some problems like this.

Purchased from Dart Auto in Colorado; Porsche/Audi shop & parts...$122, not OEM. It originally worked fine until the bracket part attached to the window came loose; I glued and reinstalled...I noticed that they now advertise the window regulator (probably a different one for $45); I plan on giving them a call...

Make sure you check everything on the window canal (I'm sure you already did), sometimes my window does that when there's like a fly or something dead in there.

+1 on disconnecting the battery then retrying.
