Default how heavy is your b6 steering?

Hi y'all. i have a 05 b6 a4 1.8tq.

great car overall (except for the fact that i put 2 grand in it fixing steering

angle sensor, ac compressor, neumorous sensors)

i was just wondering, the steering feels like its very stiff/heavy compared to

a mazda 6, sebring etc. i mean like crazy heavy. i cant turn the steering with

my one hand in the corners.

any ideas?

thanks

definitely not normal. it can be pretty heavy when standing still but not when moving. maybe you should get it checked by someone else.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going into an Indy shop for an oil change today anyways so I guess I could ask him.

I used to own Japanese cars and still do in the family. The steering in Audi is definitely heavier than those Japanese but not as heavy as you descripted. It might have something to do with power steering or the fluid. Have a shop check it for you or do a power steering fluid flush see if that helps.

sometimes these cars can feel a bit heavy, especially at low speeds. my parents avalon feels more nimble on occasions! maybe a power steering fluid change could help but it also might just be the nature of the car and a new feeling you need to get used to

i think it may just be the car to be honest. whenever i drive my dad's gmc envoy or my mom's Hyundai sonata, it's alot easier to turn the wheel.

I checked the steering fluid level yesterday and it seems fine. I'm starting to think that it might be the nature of the car. Maybe it's not heavy as I described on the thread but it is still very heavy. I can turn it with my one hand but my arms start to soar after a while.
