I have an off the wall question but here goes. I need to replace one of my rear tires on my A4, due to damage, and knowing that I need to make sure I have even tire wear on both rear tires I was wondering if I can use my spare as one of the tires. This would allow me to only have to purchase one new tire. My spare is about 4 years old and has never been used. The tire that is damaged has a broken belt but it's not real badly damaged so I was thinking I could use it as a spare? I'm not against buying two new tires. It's just an idea. Any thoughts?

Check the expiration date. Just kidding, your spare should be fine. Modern tires last a long time as long as they are kept out of the sun.

 

Thanks Captain! Ummm, tire expiration date huh? If I were a blonde I might have gone for that one but last time I checked I was still a redhead... yep still a redhead.
