How to open reservoir cap (ATF)
Hi all,
I heard some noise (at the passenger side of engine) when turning, so I went to dealer and bought 1 can of ATF, to try to add fluid. But I couldn't open the green cap at the reservoir of the Automatic Transmission Fluid.
We are the original owner and we've never opened this cap before.
Our car: 2003 Audi A4, Quattro, 3.0 liter, B6 body, 48000 miles.
Please show me how to open the cap. And how much of fluid to add?
Help is appreciated for this stupid question.
Thanks.

Now you said you heard a wierd sound while turning, which sounds like it probably is your power steering. You also need to buy that fluid at the dealership. That would be the green cap you see, like stated above. It should just screw off. If its hard to get off, try using a pair of pliers to get some additional leverage on it.
As far as how much fluid to add, there is a dipstick attached to the cap that tells you how much to add.
That's right. The atf fluid is checked at the inpection plug (similar to the way manual transmissions are checked)

You're right, this is about Power Steering, nothing related to ATF. I'm sorry I confused myself. I actually bought 1 bottle of Power Steering Fluid, not ATF.
Car is in body shop now, because of a door scratches. When getting it back, I'll try using a pair of channel-lock pliers to turn opening the green cap, which located next to windshield washer reservoir.
