I Got NO Heat
Picked up a 04 1.8 A4 Quattro, before I even drove the car, I did the timing chain, thermostat ,coolant, etc. The gauge shows engine at the midway mark, same as all A4 I had.
The heat comes out luke warm on drivers side, cold on passenger. I threw the vag com on it, 01841- Potentio meter/ Actuator for temp. Did the flap movement adjust test reccomended on another thread, same ****. Was wondering if the system may be air bound, could not find any bleeders. Any thoughts from anyone, my poor girlfriend is freezing her *** off even with heated seats, since we live in the mountains. Thanks in advance!

The bleeder whole is found by pulling the heater core hose (I believe on the right) back (off) just enough to reveal a small hole. Take the screw holding the coolant tank out and lift it four inches, so the air has an escape route. Found this last night, its a great DIY for something else but the last 3 pictures all show great system bleeding tips :: a4mods.com :: - The Premiere Audi A4 Modification Guide and Pictures Library

Didn't even see that you wrote there was a code ... my bad lol I'm not too familiar with that to be honest. Clear it, bleed it, and see if it works. If the code comes back go from there. It cant hurt to try and wont cost anything except a little coolant
OK figured it out, I bled it from both bleeders, and flushed it at my house with well water, got a little heat for a day then nothing, took it to my shop in town and recalibrated the potentio/ actuator with the vag-com and cleared codes, nothing, figuring the last thing was the core, I figured I would flush it again as a last ditch effort as it looks like real fun to remove and replace the heater core. This time I was using much higher pressure as it was city water vs. low pressure well water and I also put a 3' piece of heater hose on the heater core nipple and forced the hose sprayer end into the other end of the hose so it wouldn't leak, and kept alternating between each nipple, now don't forget the water will alway come out the other nipple, it will never be totally stopped up as the nipples are pretty much side by side so it flows right out the other, but it seems like with more pressure, it kinda simulates a closed system and forces water into the core and all of a sudden I got a big gush of crud that shot out, alternated a few more times hooked it back up, now I got the Audi version of the sahara desert, hope it works for ya and anyone else please try this before doing a new core, good luck.
